Subject: Spoelhof Prayer Prompter - February 2001
Date: February 1, 2001
These days we are getting
our house in order, filling out annual reports and active in the work,
but we need your prayers.
Remember, the earnest
prayers of the righteous have wonderful results!
Praise God with us:
1. We have made the move from Sao Paulo to Bauru. With our furniture (as well as books, files, clothes and memories accumulated over twenty years) here we seem much more settled. We were thankful to have a moving company handle everything while we just had to supervise. We were thankful for time with our friends Ken and Renny Snare and the help they were in getting all of this done. Thanks for your daily prayers for these requests. Your prayer support is so important to our ministry here.2. Many of you prayed for our deacon friend, Josemar, from our church in SP who was involved in a fatal auto accident last February. We were able to spend time with him and his family while we were in SP. He was exonerated of all blame for the accident in December. He sends a "thank you" to all who prayed for him while the court case was going on.
3. The home Bible study has started again. This past Monday we had ten out. We are using Firm Foundations lessons published by New Tribes Mission (but available only in Portuguese).
Pray with us:
1. For the sale of our house in Sao Paulo. The missionary family interested in buying is working on raising a downpayment.
2. Continue to pray for Dave and Val Smallmans' container which still has not been released. The family is settling in, their boys started in a Brazilian school yesterday (pray for Adam and Ryan as they don't speak Portuguese yet), and Dave and Val are eager to start language study.
3. The next couple months will be especially busy for us with the ministry as we must find a place to rent (we want to be in by April), Bible studies at the university start again, Sue starts ESL classes and plans are being finalized for our first stateside team to come this summer.
4. Pray for safety as Bill flies up to Harrisburg for the installation service of ABWE's new president and a week of leadership consultation seminars there from February 12-18, and for Sue as she stays here.
In Christ's exciting
service,
Bill and Sue
